Delegates with Disabilities

We aim to make attending our conferences a rewarding experience for all delegates, including those with disabilities. However it is important to bear in mind that Peterhouse College is an old building (with parts dating back to the 13th century), which is also 'listed'. This means that there are strict legal restrictions on the extent to which it may be adapted or 'modernised'.

We would anticipate the conference session rooms, lecture theatre, refectory etc. being accessible to those with disabilities and we have welcomed delegates in wheelchairs, on crutches etc. in the past. However if you are in any doubt in the case of your own particular disability, please contact Ms. Anne Gifford the Conference Co-ordinator at Peterhouse College before you register. Her telephone number is 01223-338205 (in the UK) or +44-1223-338205 (from outside the UK) and her email address is anne.gifford@pet.cam.ac.uk.

The bedrooms in the College (which can be booked at the same time as conference registration) are quite basic student accommodation and very few have en suite bathroom facilities. We would advise all delegates with disabilities considering booking overnight accommodation in College to contact Anne Gifford to discuss their requirements in detail before doing so.

The conference website gives links to hotels that are located within a short walk of the College and also a link to a list of other hotel and guest house accommodation. These are listed without any implied endorsement. We would anticipate that most would be suitable for delegates with disabilities but some may not be. We would advise all delegates with disabilities to contact the hotels, guest houses etc. directly to discuss their requirements in detail before making a booking.
