Student Bursaries for AI-2006

SGAI is pleased to announce that a limited number of bursaries are available to allow full-time research students to attend AI-2006. The Specialist Group is conscious of the financial constraints placed on many research students and is therefore delighted to be able to offer this practical financial assistance.

Applications are now invited for bursaries to attend the main two day conference at AI-2006 (i.e. Tuesday December 12th-Wednesday December 13th 2006).

Bona-fide full-time research students are invited to apply by email to Ms. Rosemary Gilligan (r.e.gilligan@herts.ac.uk). The closing date of Friday 17th November 2006 will be strictly applied. Your application must include the following information:

- your name and email address;
- your research department's postal address;
- the name and address (if different from above) of your project supervisor;
- the title of your research project;
- a brief account (no more than 200 words) of why you wish to attend the conference and why you would find the bursary helpful.

The final item will be used by the conference committee to help them allocate funds in the event that the bursaries are over-subscribed.

The guidelines for the bursary scheme are as follows:

(a) The bursary scheme will be open only to bona-fide full-time research students who are not presenting papers or posters at the conference.

(b) The Bursary will cover the registration fee for Days 2-3 of AI-2006, December 12th-13th. This includes the proceedings, lunch and refreshments daily, an invitation to the Welcome Reception on December 11th, but NOT the Gala Dinner on December 13th (tickets for the Dinner can be purchased separately).

Please note that the bursary does NOT cover attendance at the workshop day (December 11th), overnight accommodation or travel.

(c) It is intended that up to 10 bursaries will be awarded each year.
