Dr George Baryannis, University of Huddersfield

Dr George Baryannis is Subject Area Leader in Computing and Information Systems and the Deputy Director of the Centre for Autonomous and Intelligent Systems at the School of Computing and Engineering, University of Huddersfield, UK. George received a PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Crete, Greece and a DiplEng in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece. Since 2007, his research has focused on Artificial Intelligence, specifically Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Machine Learning and Explainability, with applications in Service-Oriented Computing, Smart Homes and Supply Chains. His research has led to several funded projects with industry in a variety of domains, from manufacturing to marketing and environmental monitoring.
